AeTec's Costa Rica location, which started up in January '99 doing Media Cleaning and Recycling, is now offering high volume surface mount and Throughole PC Board Assembly, as well as Conformal Coating, Electrical and RF Testing Services.

AeTec's Costa Rica operation was built using the "copy exactly" business model, meaning the new plant uses the same equipment and follows the exact same stringent processes and procedures used at the Tempe location. Therefore, AeTec's current ISO 9002 Certification covers the new manufacturing facility as well as Tempe's flagship location.

The plant, which currently runs 4 automated SMT lines operates on a 24/7 schedule for the fastest turns possible. These all new state-of-the-art lines include MPM Ultraprint 3000 screen printers, Electrovert reflow ovens and Quad QSP 2 + pick-and-place machines.

AeTec's PC Board Assembly capabilities include surface mount as well as BGA (Ball Grid Assembly) and Micro BGA. They're also proud to be one of the first suppliers in the world qualified to do dense board assembly putting 0402's on new HDI Technology boards where components are actually embedded within the layers of FR4 board. In addition to this leading edge work, AeTec offers ceramic substrate as well as standard board assembly.
